All Scriptures are taken from the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures unless otherwise stated.
'So remove vexation from your heart, and ward off calamity from your flesh; for youth and the prime of life are vanity.' - Ecclesiastes 11:10.
King Solomon, renowned throughout the world for his wisdom, wrote this scripture. He knew that, although Jehovah God wished for his people to be happy in the work he required of them, he also needed to warn the young, and more inexperienced, of them that, because of the often painful mistakes they might make, purely because of their lack of experience of the world, they needed to be warned to treasure their joy, and to keep a wise head, so that they could keep that joy going throughout their lives.
'So, flee from the desire incidental to youth, but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, along with those who call upon the Lord out of a clean heart.' - 2 Timothy 2:22.
Timothy knew what young people went through as they grew in the truth, as he had gone through his own trials and tribulations as he grew up. But a firm grounding in all those qualities had helped him to overcome the problems brought on by his lack of years and experience. The bible is full of the object lessons, and their solutions, that are needed for the youth, and all older ones, of today. Through study and prayer, and observing the behaviour of the elders in the congregation, they may learn to avoid the problems and temptations that surround them in this world. Despite the different problems that afflict each and every one of us today, the solution for every kind of need can be found in the pages of your bible. The temptations may be new, but the heart of man has always had a solution for every thing that may tempt and entice him from his spiritual journey. By following the fruitage of the spirit, any person who wishes to serve Jehovah has a guide that will prove strong throughout their lives.
'On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Moreover, those who belong to Christ Jesus impaled the flesh together with its passions and desires. If we are living by spirit, let us go on walking orderly also by spirit.' - Galatians 5:22-25.
